Lifts are one of the largest, if not the largest, appliances in your business premises and your home. With that in mind, it’s likely that you would associate an installation or maintenance with disruption and the root cause of a lot of hassle for you.
We’ve heard it a lot as lift engineers “I don’t have the time to have it installed or checked, it will cause too much trouble” Perhaps they’ve had a bad previous experience or they don’t understand the importance of these services. However, lift installation and maintenance doesn’t have to cause your life or business to shut down.
Here we answer the most commonly asked questions.
What level of disruption can I expect during installation?
As with anything on a scale as large as this, a few days of disruption is to be expected throughout the installation process. However, the long tail benefits toward your home and business will be unmatched. Our team of expert lift service engineers work quickly and efficiently to ensure you get back to normal as soon possible.
Will I need regular follow up maintenance after the installation?
In simple terms, yes. This is important for maintaining the health of your lift and to stop any kinds of issues arising that would disrupt your business or your home further. Maintenance checks can be scheduled and performed at a time that suits you and providing there are no issues, shouldn’t take more than a few hours.
What does a maintenance visit involve?
One of our expert team will visit you where the lift is installed and perform checklist tasks to ensure the health of your lift is still in top shape. This will involve checking lift fluid levels, replenishing where required and any safety checks. This will entail making a detailed list on each safety feature including any defects that need to be addressed. These checks will allow us to make recommendations on what needs to be looked at moving forward, keeping your lift in top shape.
How will I know what kind of lift I need and if I have the space to install it?
We always conduct an initial visit to the place of installation to determine space issues, the logistics of the installation and the lift that is required before anything is confirmed. We assess the entire set up and advise you on the best solution for your requirements.
How long should I keep the lift that you install?
With effective maintenance from us and ensuring that the lift continues to meet all of the health and safety requirements needed, you can keep your lift for around 20-30 years. There are a few variables to this time frame such as usage and footfall, but overall this a good average benchmark. Part of our service with maintenance is that we aim to keep your lift in operation for as long as possible.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes, we respond to emergency break-down issues and provide a point of contact for yourself should you need ad hoc support to address any concerns that arise with your lift. We want our customers to feel like they can call us whenever they need us.
